Bernard has almost 20 years travel industry experience and is a recognised industry expert and commentator, particularly in the field of travel related regulatory issues. He is a member of the 2007 judging panel for the prestigious UK Business Travel World Awards and in 2005 was voted “one of the top 25 most influential executives” in global corporate travel by the leading US travel publication, Business Travel News.

He was formerly American Express Business Travel Europe’s Director of Industry Affairs and Strategic Development .
While at American Express, Bernard supported corporate procurement interests by lobbying the European Commission, Governments, industry groups and trade associations to change legislation that negatively impacted the business travel industry.  He also led the strategic thinking and approach to many innovative programmes; including corporate governance initiatives.Prior to his recent executive board role he held a number of other senior management positions including Commercial Director for American Express Business Travel, Europe and Head of Global Sales for British Airways.

The company was founded to address the need for a dedicated carbon initiative within the travel industry. It is motivated by the need for travellers and travel industry alike to protect the destinations that they visit/work with and to understand the carbon impact of their travel. To support companies and individuals, we have designed advanced calculators using academic and industry  research to demonstrate how flights to a destination using different classes of travel, aircraft and airlines emit carbon dioxide. We also provide carbon sequestration and carbon saving projects, which we have based in the UK to enable easy verification and long term viability. Our work is very much informed and shaped by the companies and individuals we work with and the progress of research in the climate change arena.
